A fine example of Greek Revival architecture, the Shawneetown Bank was constructed in 1839-41 to house the offices of the Bank of Illinois at Shawneetown. The building housed numerous financial institutions into the 1930s. Built with four stories and five massive front columns, it looks out over the levy on the Ohio River.
